Tourism development

It is a challenge to move from domestic tourism to attracting international visitors and below are some of the ways in which we can help you improve the quality and range of your tourism and/or hospitality products.

WORKSHOPS FOR DECISION MAKERS

We organise workshops where current issues can be explored. Some essential topics addressed are:

  • Identifying new products and markets
  • Climate change and tourism
  • Managing tourism for sustainability
  • Crisis management 1: Preparing for a crisis
  • Crisis management 2: Recovery after a crisis

INDIVIDUAL BUSINESS CONSULTATIONS

We have wide experience of tourism and hospitality ventures around the world and we have a good understanding of what pleases people of different nationalities.  We will visit your premises and provide a fresh perspective on your operations, suggesting ways in which you can develop your business and target new markets.

  • Bar/restaurant, Lao PDR

MARKET RESEARCH

We can discover what people think of your tourism/hospitality products, e.g. by asking:

  • What have visitors enjoyed the most or least?
  • What has been their greatest challenge?
  • What else would visitors have liked to do ?
  • How have disabled visitors found the facilities?

We can also carry out Mystery Customer Visits to:

  • assess staff performance
  • measure customer satisfaction
  • evaluate the quality of a service or attraction
  • consider health and safety issues

Visits can take place before, during or after training and in-depth feedback will be provided shortly after the visits.

DEVELOPING AUDIO-VISUAL MATERIALS

Blue Avon can help develop or improve the quality of existing tourism and/or hospitality materials, such as menus and information sheets. This may involve:

  • Creating new pamphlets, maps and other tourism or hospitality resources
  • Translating or proofreading existing materials, such as booklets, pamphlets, menus
  • Providing constructive feedback on websites and other marketing materials
  • Producing short videos or work books for training purposes

We work in most of the common European languages and, with notice, should be able to help in other widely spoken languages, such as Mandarin.
